Be a `Golden Pin' Contributor

This is the 'Silver Jubilee' year of the Air Force Association. Apart from various functions that will be organised by your branch to celebrate this important milestone, we are also going to launch a special drive to generate funds to create a corpus. Since we members do not contribute on a regular basis to the AFA funds the Branch finds it very difficult to run its office and carry out routine activities to assist our retired brethren who need support especially widows and their children. To generate funds for the corpus three major functions are being organised. A committee has been set up and members have volunteered to look after these activities.

At the same time it is important that each member contributes his/her mite through individual donations for the cause. You will agree that this is a good opportunity for all members of AFA(K) to show their appreciation for the work done by the Branch besides strengthening it.

Individuals contributing towards the AFA(K) corpus will be duly recognised through our website and yearly newsletter. Your Branch has commissioned Barton Sons & Co, Bangalore to specially manufacture solid silver, gold plated lapel pins to mark our silver Anniversary. All members are requested to buy lapel pins for themselves and their spouses. Each lapel pin is available for Rs.1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) which will cover the cost of the pin and provide a contribution of Rs.1000/- for the corpus. Members are requested to send their cheques in favour of "AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION, KARNATAKA" following which the pins will be sent by courier to the address given or can be collected from the Branch office as well as at the AGBM on 13 Mar 2005.

As an IAF veteran and as President of AFA (Karnataka Branch) , I strongly urge all other IAF veterans in Karnataka to contribute generously so that our drive to build up a corpus develops momentum.
