Educational Benefits

1. An Inter services Charitabale Trust known as 'Bengal Masonic Association Inter Services Charitable Trust' is maintained at Army HQ, AG's Branch, CW-4(C), New Delhi.

2. This trust with limited funds available, provides educational scholarship to needy and promising children of service personnel of all the three services who had died or disabled while in service due to causes attributable to services (other than in action for whom Govt bears the educational expenses)

3. The scholarship is given for pursuing education from Class VI onwards till Graduation/Post Graduation and also for Vocational Courses recognized by Central/State Govts. It is limited to one child in a family.

4. The amount of scholarship varies from class to class subject to a minimum of Rs. 1000/- and a maximum of Rs. 4,000/- in an academic year.

Prime Minister's Merit Scholarship Scheme

1    The Hon’ble Prime Minister has announced on the occasion of the Independence Day 2005 the subject scheme. The scheme will be applicable only for the wards/widows of ex-servicemen who joined professional degree course in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, MBA MCA, duly recognized by the respective government regulatory bodies during the academic year 2006-07.

Amount of Scholarship

    (a)     Rs.1250/- per month for boys
    (b)     Rs. 1500/- per month for girls.

Academic Requirement

3.    At least 60% marks at the 10+2 level for the initial sanction. For renewal in subsequent years, 50% marks each year. Duration of the scholarship will be two to five years as approved by the concerned regulatory body for that programme.

4.    Application can be had from Kendriya Sainik Board by sending a demand draft of Rs.30/- drawn in favour of Secretary KSB payable at Delhi or Director Rajya Sainik Board payable at respective state capital. IAFBA Scholarship: Forms for award of scholarship from the IAFBA are available in the office of AFA, Karnataka Branch. Interest personnel may collect the forms for submission. Details are available on the forms.

Honouring Achievers: AFA plans to felicitate achievers amongst former Air Force Personnel as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations. Members who know of former AF personnel having achieved recognition in academic, industry and other civil fields may forward details urgently.

Cash Award to Meritorious Children
 

We are happy to announce a new Cash Award scheme to recognise the meritorious children of our members. The award of Rs. 500/- will be presented to those children who score highest marks in Class X & Class XII (PUC) examinations, separately for CBSE, ICSC and Karnataka State Board examinations. Members are requested to submit hand written application with details of the child & certified copy of Marks card. Last date for receipt of application is 31 Oct 2004. Award will be presented at the next AGB Meeting of Association on 1st Sunday of February 2005.

Award of Scholarship from IAFBA for Children of
Serving, Retired and Deceased Air Force Personnel

 


1. Enclosed please find 10 application forms for award of IAFBA scholarships for the academic year 2004-05.

2. The details of each scholarship and its applicability are shown in the guide printed in the application form. You are requested to ensure that the applications are complete in all respects before submission. Please also note that the last date for receipt of applications to IAFBA is 29 Oct 2004 (R) 29 Oct 2004. For Undergraduate Professional Courses (MBBS/BE) the last date for submission of application is 30 Nov 2004 (R) 30 Nov 2004.

3. You may also give wide publicity fort the scheme. It is also intimated that scholarship application forms to all Rajya/Zilla Sainik Board, Command HQs and self accounting Station/Units of Air Force have also been sent directly by IAFBA.

Educational Help for Children

Educational scholarship to children of Armed Forces Personnel killed/missing/permanently disabled in action in 1962, 1965, 1971 wars, Op Parakram and Op Meghdoot was already in force. The facility is now extended to the children of all Armed Forces Personnel who were killed/missing/permanently disabled during all `Post Meghdoot Operations' in India and abroad including Counter Insurgency Operations, for children studying in Government/Government aided schools/educational facilities, Military/Sainik Schools and other schools or colleges recognised by the Central or State governments including those financed entirely by Central/State government.
