Shifting of ECHS Polyclinic Bangalore (Urban) to Permanent Location

A type A ECHS Polyclinic was functioning at CHAF, Bangalore since Jun 2004.  The ECHS  Polyclinic is now being shifted to the newly constructed permanent location wef 21 May 2008.

The new ECHS Polyclinic is located on the other side of Medical Training Centre (MTC) on Cambridge road, opposite to  Sainik Aram Gruha.

In view of the above, the ECHS Polyclinic at CHAFB will be closed on 19 and 20 May 2008.  Only emeregency cases will be attended to at CHAFB MI Room.

FAS Rehabilitation Grant

Appended below is extract from IAFBA letter No. Air HQ/26095/6/IAFBA/Accts dated 04 Feb 08 for information all concerned.

1. It is intimated that prior to Apr 97, the amount contributed by the AF Personnel under FAS scheme was refunded to them at the time of their retirement. Further individuals those who are rendered minimum 20 yrs of service were eligible for grants at rates than applicable in case of death after retirement. The scheme was revised in Apr 97 and conditions for eligibility are as follows.

  • Scheme was made compulsory for all Air Warriors in service wef 01 Apr 97.
  • In case of death in service all Air Warriors are entitled for the benefits.
  • All air warriors retiring/going out of service other than on disciplinary grounds wef 30 Apr 97 are eligible for FAS benefit in case of death after retirement.
  • Air Warriors who were not members of FAS and retired /gone out of service prior to Apr 97 are not eligible for FAS benefit.
  • Air Warriors who are member of FAS and retired/gone out of service prior to Apr 97 are eligible for FAS benefits provided they were members of FAS while in service.
  • Air Warriors gone/going out of service on disciplinary grounds or removed from service for any other reason are not eligible for FAS benefits.

        (b) A recent clear photograph with or without spouse.
        (c) A small write up of about 100 words on career and achievements.
