Release of Surplus ‘B’ Vehicles to Ex-servicemen, Their
Widows and Co-operative Societies of Ex-servicemen
Min of Def vide their letter No. 10(1)/2006/D (o-II) dated 20 Apr 2006 has
stated that ex-servicemen who have completed 05 years from their date of
discharge can apply on the subject through their respective ZSB’s, if willing.

Department of Ex-Servicemen
(Bhoopoorva Sainik Kalyan Vibhag)
The Government of India has
approved with immediate effect an opening of a department of ex-servicemen
Welfare (Bhoopoorva Sainik Kalyan Vibhag) under the Ministry of Defence
responsible for matters relating to Ex-servicemen including pensions, ECHS and
administration of pension regulations for the three Services.

Empowerment of Ex Air Force Personnel
The President of AFA, during his address at Governing Council
Meeting and Annual General Body Meeting of the Air Force Association held on 14
& 15 Sep 2005, had talked about the empowerment of Ex-Air Force Personnel to
undertake repair, maintenance & overhaul of aircraft/Ground equipment belonging
to Civil Aviation & Defence Ministry. President informed that in foreign
countries there is a system of Private companies formed by Ex-servicemen to
undertake repair & maintenance of aircraft equipment. President emphasised the
need for the Ex-Air Force personnel to organise themselves into an
organisation/joint ventures to undertake similar tasks in the Country.
A potential employer has approached Air Force Association to provide information
& Bio-Data of Ex-Air Force personnel of technical trade with experience in BRD’s
for undertaking repair, maintenance & overhaul of engines of aircrafts. The
employer proposes to set up an infrastructure for the purpose near Salem/Thanjavur
in South India or Nashik or any other place in Western India with in a period of
six months to one year.
The manpower requirement is for technical officers and tradesmen (Engine/Air
Frame/Elect Fitters) below 50 years with an experience in BRD’s for overhaul,
repair & maintenance of aircraft engines.
Branch Presidents are requested to obtain information about such Ex-Air Force
personnel within their jurisdiction and forward list of willing persons with
Bio-Data to the Head Office for our necessary action.
